To improve community health and well-being, stimulate economic development through education and promotion of modern farming.
According to AUSVEG publication (ECONOMIC MODELLING OF IMPACT OF INCREASED VEGETABLE INTAKE ON HEALTH EXPENDITURE VG15031), “If (Australian) people increased their vegetable intake by 10 per cent, governments in Australia would save $100 million per year. Australian vegetable producers could receive up to $23 million in additional profit.
Our aims and activities involve preparing, planning and designing programs for children and adults with the emphasis on health, nutrition and sustainability featuring fruit and vegetable production and consumption. We research and develop innovative modern growing processes and our design emphasis on upcycling, while promoting biodiversity, soil health, water conservation, energy conservation with the use of renewable energy and the reduction of chemical use in growing processes. We engage various communities at risk of long-term welfare dependence in our programs and we also develop partnerships and work closely with local farmers, businesses and other not-for-profit service providers.
